In the community
Air Canada has served Newfoundlanders and Labradoreans since 1942, longer and more consistently than any other carrier.

Air Canada, through the Air Canada Foundation, created a Hospital Transportation Program specifically to address the needs of children requiring medical services not available locally.  Since its inception in 2003, over 160 million Aeroplan Miles have been donated to 15 pediatric hospitals across Canada including the Janeway. The Janeway alone has received over 23 million Aeroplan Miles allowing over 400 children, accompanied by a parent, from across Newfoundland and Labrador to travel to a recognized medical facility for specialized services. The Air Canada Foundation continues to work directly with the hospitals to provide this service.

In 2017-2018, the Air Canada Foundation also contributed to the fundraising efforts of a wide range of local charities including: the Janeway Children's Hospital Foundation, CNIB Newfoundland and Labrador, Eating Disorder Foundation of NL, Easter Seals, Newfoundland and Labrador, Autism Society of Newfoundland and Labrador and Choices for Youth.
